Please include
- your iPhone model and iOS version (Settings → General → About),
- the app version (in the app's settings, right at the bottom),
- what you were doing and what happened,
- for drive detection problems, the diagnostic log — how to get it is described below.
Frequently asked
A drive was not recorded. Why?
Almost always the location permission. Go through Settings → Mileage Log → Location and check that:
- Always is selected — with „While Using the App“ the app gets no location in the background and misses the drive,
- Precise Location is on,
- motion is allowed in Settings → Mileage Log → Motion & Fitness.
The second common cause is Low Power Mode — iOS limits background work while it is on. And if you swiped the app away in the app switcher, the system will not relaunch it in the background; just open it once.
How do I pair a car so drives land on the right vehicle?
Get in the car and connect the phone over CarPlay or Bluetooth. The app will tell you it has seen an unknown device and offer to assign it to a vehicle. From then on the car is recognised by itself.
If you paired a vehicle under a generic name earlier (plenty of cars report themselves simply as „CarPlay“), assign it again from that prompt — the exact unit identifier is stored and other people's cars can no longer end up under your vehicle.
Why is a drive waiting for confirmation instead of counting towards the export?
That is deliberate. An automatically recorded drive is a proposal — until you confirm it, it stays out of the export, so nothing you have not seen reaches your accountant.
Unconfirmed drives have no deadline and never disappear on their own. Confirm them in the drive list or straight from the notification.
How do I export the log for my accountant?
In the drive list pick a vehicle and a period and choose export. You get a PDF with the vehicle and period repeated on every page, or a CSV if you want to process the data yourself.
Before exporting, check that every drive in the period is confirmed — unconfirmed ones do not reach the output. In settings you also choose whether full addresses or town names only are printed.
Export is part of the subscription.
No job was filled in, even though I was there.
When two jobs sit closer than 30 metres apart, the app deliberately does not guess and leaves the choice to you — a wrongly assigned job is worse than none. Open the drive and pick the job by hand.
The app also never overwrites a note you wrote yourself. It still records the link to the job, so renaming a job shows up on older drives too.
My iPad does not show the drives from my iPhone.
Both devices must be signed in to the same Apple Account and have Mileage Log enabled in Settings → Apple Account → iCloud. Sync needs an internet connection and takes a while the first time.
One thing to note: detection sensitivity and the geofence radius are deliberately not synced. A phone on the dashboard and an iPad in the office do not have the same GPS conditions, so each device keeps its own settings for that.
I bought a new phone. How do I move my subscription?
Sign in with the same Apple Account you bought the subscription with and choose Restore purchases in the app's settings. The subscription belongs to the Apple Account, not to the device, so there is nothing to pay again.
How do I send the diagnostic log?
The app's settings contain the diagnostic log and an option to export it. It is saved to Files, and from there you attach it to an e-mail.
The log is a technical record of how the app made its decisions while detecting drives. For us it is the main way to find out why a drive was not recorded. It contains times and places of drives, so only send it when we actually need it to solve a problem.
How do I delete all my data?
Deleting the app removes the data from the device. The copy in iCloud is removed in Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage → Mileage Log.
Deletion cannot be undone and we cannot restore your data — we have no access to it. Export anything you want to keep first.
